Thinking beyond the finished piece

A tattoo should work today
and years from now

Alex does not focus only on how a tattoo looks when it is finished. He considers how the work may change over time and how its structure, contrast and placement can continue to read clearly on the body.

He also thinks about what may come next. New pieces should be able to connect with previous or older tattoos, creating an organic relationship between the work rather than leaving every design isolated from the rest of the body.

Technique follows the project

Different tools
for different ideas

Alex adjusts his technique according to the project. The goal is to understand the vision, find the right visual feeling and choose the methods that serve the design with precision.

Throughout his career he has worked with Realism, Chicano, Japanese, Lettering, Cartoon, New School, Tribal and other styles. Each one added techniques and ways of thinking that now give him a broad range of movement when working with different people, subjects and personalities.

Respect for the craft

Professional practice
with responsibility

From his early years, Alex learned from mentors and followed artists who treated tattooing as a disciplined profession. Their example shaped his attention to preparation, responsibility and respect for the person who carries the work.

He continues to value the knowledge and standards developed by the artists and communities that helped tattooing grow into the respected profession it is today.
